Khalid wants international probe on Aminul’s death
By Shazwan Mustafa Kamal
PETALING JAYA, May 1 — Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim wants an “internationally-accredited panel” to investigate Aminulrasyid Amzah’s death in a police shooting.
He welcomed the government’s independent panel monitoring the 14-year-old schoolboy’s death but stressed that the panel must be “fair and balanced.”
“I thinks it’s alright, as long as they (the government) have the right people to look into the case.
“But the issue here is that its best to have an international panel, one that is at least internationally accredited,” said the Selangor MB.
It is understood that the panel will not consist of any politicians from either side of the political spectrum.
Aminulrasyid was shot dead by the police while allegedly driving his friend’s car and fleeing upon collision with another car in the wee hours of the morning in the suburbs of Section 11, Shah Alam.
Both Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional have been quick to capitalise on the issue, visiting the deceased’s family and using it as a political issue to mobilise more support from the grassroots.
“Take a look at the late Benazir Bhutto, a panel was brought from the United Nations (UN) to investigate. That’s how Malaysia should do it.
“We do not want a panel that creates a mockery of justice,” added Khalid. - TMI

Nik ismail,
Fair enough?
