Three men convicted of carrying out the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings will be executed in early November, a spokesman for Indonesia's attorney general has said. Amrozi Nurhasyim, Ali Gufron and Imam Samudra have exhausted all appeals and will be executed by firing squad.
The sentences will be carried out at the maximum
security prison island off southern Java where the
men are currently being held.
"The execution will be carried out in early November... The decision is final," attorney general's office spokesman Jasman Panjaitan said without providing an exact date.
He said "all legal avenues" for the convicts had been exhausted "and all legal requirements have been fulfilled".

"The announcement today is not firm or clear about the execution date, it could be anywhere between November 1 and November 10," lawyer Achmad Cholid told the AFP news agency.

The October 2002 bomb attacks on two separate nightclubs left 202 people dead, most of them foreign tourists.
Earlier this week Indonesia's constitutional court rejected an appeal by the three men against the method of execution. -- Al Jazeera
