KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 - Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced the setting up of a parliamentary caucus on the integrity and independence of the judiciary.
He noted that it would be a bipartisan caucus, "notwithstanding the judicial appointments commission to be set up by the Prime Minister".
"We will meet all MPs who are interested," he said.
Anwar told reporters at a press conference in parliament today that he had notified the minister in charge of parliamentary affairs Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz. He added that Nazri was now on leave.
However, the first caucus meeting will be held at 1pm tomorrow and will be chaired by the Ipoh Timur MP Lim Kit Siang.
