Duo who sued for wrongful arrest awarded RM73,000

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sessions Court here has awarded a total of RM73,000 in damages to two men who sued the police and government for wrongful arrest over the Nurin Jazlin Jazimin murder case three years ago.
Mohd Zamri Ibrahim, 36, was granted RM41, 500 in damages after the court ruled he was wrongfully arrested.
His brother-in-law Mohd Suhaimi Yusoff, 31, was granted RM31, 500 in damages. However, court ruled that Mohd Suhaimi’s arrest was not wrongful but found that he sustained injuries from the arrest.
