Shuib Lazim, one of the 'Datuk T' trio, said it would be unfair of the police to charge him for distributing the sex video involving a man resembling a top opposition leader.
"We have not distributed to the public. We only showed it to several reporters. If we had intended to distribute it, we would have made 10,000 copies," said Shuib, the former Perkasa treasurer-general.
Other members of the 'Datuk T' trio are businessperson Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik.
Shuib was asked to comment on a statement by the police yesterday that the trio could face charges for distributing and showing obscene material.
Federal police CID deputy director Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the trio could be charged as it is an offence to screen pornographic material, under Section 292 of the Penal Code.
The 22-minute sex video shows a man who looks like Anwar Ibrahim having sex with a woman.
Anwar has denied that he is the man in the video and has lodged a police report. - malaysiakini
