Veteran Bollywood actor Shammi Kapoor has died in the western Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay) at the age of 79.
Kapoor had been suffering for some time from kidney disease and had been admitted to hospital last week.
He belonged to a famous family of filmmakers and actors, and was a prominent star in 1950s and 1960s.
One of the most popular actors of his generation, Kapoor starred in hits like Junglee, An Evening in Paris, Chinatown and Kashmir Ki Kali. -- MORE

saya menonton filem beliau ketika umur 7 thn pada thn 1961 dalam filem "Singapore"di panggong Lido di Melaka bersama ayah saya ketika itu. Lakonan beliau memang hebat kesemua filem, filem yg paling saya suka menonton ialah "Tesri Manzil" bersama pelakon Asha Parekh tak boleh lupa saya menonton dipanggong wayang terbuka (open air )di bandar Mersing sekitar thn 1968.Boleh dikatakan sejarah apabila filem hisdustan dilakon olih beliau panggong akan tetap penuh dan berderet org keluar panggong berjalan kaki balik ka rumah dgn penuh kepuasa...
