IPOH, Oct 16 — (BERNAMA) Perak Umno Youth today lodged a report with the Anti-Corruption Agency to probe an alleged interference by the Perak Menteri Besar’s political secretary into the affairs of the Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPS).
Perak Umno Youth chief and Sungai Manik state assemblyman, Zainol Padzi Paharuddin, alleged that the political secretary, Misbahul Munir Masduki, had directed JPS on the department’s development works.
Zainol alleged that the direction was for the works to be handled by the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) for direct negotiation.
He alleged that in the past the works were handled by the Area Farmers Organisation (PPK) which then called for tenders in the related areas.
Meanwhile in Teluk Intan, Sungai Manik and Labu Kubong PPK directors’ board chairman, Suib Sulaiman, lodged a report with the ACA on the same matter. — Malaysiakini
