SHAH ALAM, Nov 12 –The Selangor state executive council today decided that the family of the late Datuk Zakaria Md Deros, the former Port Klang state assemblyman, must vacate the 2,269 square metre land in Pandamaran, Klang, adjacent to the bungalow he had built.
“The state exco today directed the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) to tell the late Zakaria’s family to vacate within a month and issue a compoundable summons for encroaching on state land.
“If they fail to do so, the state government will take the case to court for encroachment,” he said at a news conference after the state exco meeting here today.
He said the bungalow lot of 4,049 square metres was not in the vacation order but a fine of RM19,373 was imposed on Zakaria by MPK as its construction early in 2006 was done without approval by the local authority.
He said according to records, the district land committe on last Dec 14, rejected a land ownership application for the land and decided that any appeal should be made to the state exco.
Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid said the state government will provide assistance to solve the problem of council homes rentals of those who had a household income of less than RM1,500 a month and the disabled.
The aid was given as the state government cared for the people’s welfare following the rise in rental from RM124 to RM250 a month.
Applications for aid can be made at the Selangor Property and Housing Board at 5th Floor, North Podium, Bangunan Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah here or through the respective state assemblymen. – Bernama
