MB Selangor : Khalid akan digantikan?

PKR has no plan to remove Khalid

KOTA BARU: PKR has no plans to remove embattled Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim from his posts, said party president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

She said despite the problems plaguing Khalid, the Pakatan Rakyat coalition had collectively decided on retaining him as the Selangor administrative chief.

“For now, there is no move to remove Khalid. We will discuss with the party and the Selangor (government) for their views. But he will remain as Selangor MB,” she told a press conference after her presidential address at the PKR national congress earlier today.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who was also present, concurred with Azizah.

"This is merely a question of a full investigation (into the sand-mining scandal). Khalid has done this. He has also set up Selcat (Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency) which is led by the (state assembly) speaker.

“As such, I don’t see a problem. If there are reports (of wrongdoings) as indicated in the president’s address, we will act immediately,“ said Anwar.

Khalid is embroiled in an illegal sand-mining scandal involving state government-owned company Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB).

RM2mil offer to defect

When asked about the RM2 million offered by Umno-Barisan Nasional to PKR members to jump party, he said: "We’ll reveal more.. when the time is right.”

Yesterday, Anwar said he had solid proof that elected PKR representatives who had defected were offered RM2 million and contract offers worth a few more millions.

He said up until now the defectors have denied.

“But I have solid evidence of the offers. Our people are waiting for the reps' reactions before we make our knowledge public,” he said. - FMT
