KUALA LUMPUR: A minister’s former aide would be charged at the Sessions Court in Butterworth, Penang, for money laundering this afternoon.
Hasbie Satar, former political secretary to Nor Mohamed Yakcop, who was the former second finance minister and now minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, would be charged under Section 4 (1) of the Money Laundering Act 2001.
The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) in a statement confirmed that the ex-aide would be charged.
It is learnt that the charge was related to cash found in his apartment in Butterworth following a raid by the MACC last February.
Nor Mohamed is currently in charge of the Economic Planning Unit
