LATHEEFA Koya revealed that there is a concerted effort by the police in covering up Datuk Shafie Apdal and the allegation linking him with actress, Zahida Rafik.
In a press conference held in PKR headquarters, Latheefa said her client, Noor Azman Azemi was offered by the police to change lawyers during the investigation process.
“My client were told by the police that they can help him in getting new laywers should he wish to do so,” said Latheefa.
“They also asked my client on whether he knew that I am working closely with PKR,”
“The investigators didn't ask questions that are related to the case, but worked beyond what was vested in them by offering such legal help,” Latheefa added.
In the press conference, it was also revealed that Noor Azman was investigated by Special Branch and not by police officers.
"The Special Branch who investigated Azman also asked if he wishes to end Shafie’s career by exposing the Minister’s affair,” said Latheefa.
Commenting on the matter, R Sivarasa said that the police have once again misused their power and demanded for an investigation to be conducted.
“This is very serious, the rights of a client and his lawyer have been breached by the police institution as if they are trying to cover up the Minister,” said Sivarasa who is also the Subang MP. (Malaysian Digest)
