.KUALA PILAH: Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek was involved in a minor road accident involving two cars at Km2 of the Jalan Melang-Kuala Pilah on Wednesday night.
Luckily Hasan who is also Kuala Pilah member of parliment was not hurt along with his driver, bodyguard and the driver of the other car.
In the 8:20pm incident, Hasan along with his driver Nordin Mohammad and bodyguard Sergeant Mohamad Noor was in a Toyota Harrier sport utility vehicle (SUV) travelling from the Kuala Pilah parliamentary office heading to Hasan's home in Seremban.
Kuala Pilah police chief Superintendent Azmi Abdul Rahim said when the SUV approached a T-junction, a Honda City suddenly came out into the SUV's path.
"The Toyota Harrier did not manage to evade in time and hit the front right side door of the Honday City," he said today.
Azmi said the driver of the Honda City, Malina Raihan Ramlan, 25, who worked at the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital (HTAN) was not hurt.
"We are investigating the case under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.
Hassan's press secretary Mohd Kamel Othman when contacted said the driver of the Honda City was a doctor at HTAN who was making her way back home after being on-call duty.
"The minister was not hurt and the damage to front side of his car was not that extensive as he later went back to his home in the same vehicle.
"In fact today, the minister went to work as usual and attended a function at his ministry in Putrajaya," he said when contacted.
