Man Gunned Down In Sungai Petani
SUNGAI PETANI: A 23-year-old man died on the spot after being shot three times on the chest in Jalan Kuala Ketil here late yesterday in what believed to be a turf war between underworld gangs.
In the 10.30pm incident at Taman Songket, the deceased identified as M Gurubaran, 23, was shot by a man and his accomplice while riding a motorcycle.
The body was sent to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for a post-morterm and the case had been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. - MD
Pub owner shot dead in Johor
JOHOR BARU: One of two men on a motorcycle shot dead the owner and manager of a pub in Jalan Permas 10, Permas Jaya, early today as their victim was waiting in his vehicle for food ordered from a motorised steamboat vendor.
Johor Baru Selatan Police chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh said the pillion rider of the motorcycle, which had pulled up behind the stationary Toyota Harrier of the pub owner, identified as Kessu and in his 40s, and shot him several times in the head, killing him on the spot in the 2.15 am incident.
The motive for the killing had yet to be established, he said in a statement.
