KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territory Islamic Affairs Department (Jawi) has launched its own investigations into the sex video clip allegedly featuring an opposition leader.
The investigation was launched following the police report lodged by Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) on April 7 at the Jawi headquarters in Jalan Perdana here.
Jawi director Datuk Che Mat Che Ali told the New Straits Times that the report was lodged by AMK chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin against the "Datuk T" trio over their allegation that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had committed adultery.

The "Datuk T" trio are former Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and former Perkasa treasurer Datuk Shuib Lazim.
The three had alleged that it was Anwar who was featured in the sex video with a foreign prostitute.
Che Mat said the report was being investigated under Section 41 of the Syariah Criminal Offences Act for Qazaf.

Under this section, anyone who accuses another person of committing adultery must have four witnesses, a confession from the accused and strong evidence.
The religious body is now looking for witnesses to facilitate their investigations.
"Our investigations are separate from that carried out by police," Che Mat said, adding that they would record Shamsul's statement on Monday.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Islamic affairs, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, said investigations had to be carried out since a report was lodged with the religious authority.
Jamil said for investigations into Qazaf, Jawi would have to check whether the accusation of adultery was made. - nst

baguslah kalau adakan siastan, tapi mesti berlaku adil. jangan sekadar siasat saja, tapi biarlah ada tindakkan dan jatuhkan hukuman setimpal yang ditetapkan oleh islam (enakmen atau akta). tindakkan mesti tegas, tidak perlu takut kepada mana-mana pihak yang mengenakan tekanan.
