"Siapa kita ni sampai nak lawan dia (Allah).

BERNAMA.
Nik Aziz: No racial supremacy in Islam
KOTA BARU, Nov 17 — Islam does not take race into consideration, thus people should not identify race with Islam, said Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
KOTA BARU, Nov 17 — Islam does not take race into consideration, thus people should not identify race with Islam, said Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
He said Islam was a religion above race, so it was wrong to identity Malays with Islam as there were also Chinese and Indian who were Muslims. Islam was for all regardless of whether they are Malays, Chinese or Indians, he added.
Speaking at the launching of the inaugural London Fish Tales fast-food outlet at the Tesco hypermarket here today, he said people who place race above religion were being brainwashed by western culture.
It was for this reason, he said, that he disagreed with the Ketuanan Melayu (Malay supremacy) ideology because in Islam there was no emphasis on race.
He stressed that Muslims must practise the teachings of Islam, describing those who placed race ahead of religion as being “disillusioned”.
Nik Aziz said the actions of those Muslims who did not follow the teachings of Islam were the cause why the religion was not respected.
He said Muslims should follow the true teachings of the religion in order to win the respect of non-Muslims.
Meanwhile, Bernama reports that Nik Aziz said no one should question the decision of the National Fatwa Council's decree outlawing "pengkid" (tomboyism).
He said NGOs had no right to question Islamic matters.
"Who are we to go against Allah's commands? Are we that great?" he asked.
He was commenting on the action of two NGOs — Katagender and Food-not-Bombs — which held street demonstrations in Kuala Lumpur recently to protest the move by the council to outlaw tomboyism. -- The Malaysian Insider
