Special flight to fly back bodies of Thai tourists

IPOH, Dec 21 — The Thai Embassy in Malaysia is arranging with the Thai government for a special flight from here to Bangkok to take back the bodies of the 24 Thai tourists killed in a road accident south of here yesterday.

The Thai ambassador to Malaysia, Thana Duangrana, who spoke to reporters at the Forensics Department of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here, said the embassy wanted the flight to be made available quickly.

A tour bus carrying 37 Thai tourists heading from Cameron Highlands to Kuala Lumpur crashed onto a divider and overturned at Km15 of the Cameron Highlands-Simpang Pulai Road yesterday, killing the 24 Thais and three Malaysians, who were the drivers and tourist guide.

The 10 injured Thai tourists have been admitted to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital. — Bernama
