KOTA BAHARU: The office of the Sultan of Kelantan today lodged a police report on the false offer of Kelantan State honours purportedly issued by the office.
The report was lodged by the Administrative Officer (Protocol) from the Office of the Sultan of Kelantan, Nik Mahmud Nik Jaafar, at the Kota Baharu District Police Headquarters at noon.
The Comptroller of the Kelantan Royal Household, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamad said the report was lodged after the office received a copy of the document from Istana Telipot regarding the award of the state honours.
"On Sept 19, the Office of the Sultan of Kelantan, Istana Balai Besar Kota Baharu received a copy of the document which was received from Istana Telipot, which was faxed by the Special Investigation Division (D9), Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) Jalan Hang Tuah, Kuala Lumpur pertaining to the letter on the award of the state honours.
"A check was made and it was found that the document was false and had never been issued by this office, and as such, I have instructed the Administrative Officer (Protocol) of the Office of the Sultan of Kelantan to lodge a police report on the matter," he said in a statement, here today.
He said the report was lodged to ask the police to initiate immediate investigation on the falsification of the document so that such an act could be curbed in future. - BERNAMA
